About you
If you’ve found me, you’re probably an eco-entrepreneur, a biomaterials mastermind, an environmental rights warrior, a fashion powerhouse, a leader in your creative community, or someone with impeccable taste who cares immensely about the state of nature. You want businesses to be responsible for everything they produce, and you believe that making big shifts in the way we do business can push the needle on global carbon reduction. You want environmental repair and regeneration to happen - fast. I love that about you. I’m either honored we crossed paths or I will be thrilled when we do.
About me
I have always known my mission is to celebrate the immense beauty of nature and reveal that beauty within each of us.
As a young activist, I witnessed how shifts in business practices and policy can immediately alleviate or exacerbate environmental crises. I grew up in Portland: there was clearcutting, there was protesting, and there was a lot of sustainable urban infrastructure and earth-centric business development. People I knew rallied around nature. I came to believe that ecosystems could recover and altruists could lead the charge for environmental protection and healing. I studied international affairs and conflict resolution, and joined Conservation International in their Center for Environmental Leadership in Business and then Mercy Corps to do environmental advocacy and humanitarian relief work. Survivors of the Iraq War inspired me daily as we built safer, more resilient communities for them in Jordan. I helped as they learned new trades and put together programming for mental health and education in thriving community centers, and I supported Jordanians in rural areas as they constructed cisterns and aquifers to harvest rainwater for healthier food through droughts. I saw new hope take root. In Sudan I worked alongside powerful women and girls facing desertification and leading initiatives for climate justice and water access at boreholes, and gaining income from their home-grown vegetables and mud brick construction enterprises. Back in America, I powered through sleepless nights at RISD fueled by my belief that art, design, and architecture can simultaneously heal environmental wounds and help humanity ground into an exquisite and harmonious place within the natural order. I graduated with a glorious portfolio full of fluid and environmentally-sensitive structures that function in harmony with landscape and light, built immersive textile sculptures at MassMoCA, designed hyper-sustainable LEED Platinum buildings, and pushed the leading edge of nano-scale material science at Harvard and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering.
I looked back at my endeavors. I saw profoundly worthy and challenging efforts behind me… and I wanted to do more good, because environmental regeneration can’t happen fast enough. I decided I would craft a more ethical business model than any I’d seen, launch a fashion enterprise founded on environmental values, and draw on ancient wisdom, artisan craft, and stunning biomaterial innovation. House of Heritors is the result. My brainchild. A circular fashion house creating sublimely beautiful garments for a regenerative planet. We design garments inspired by the dynamic forces and forms of nature. We tailor, repair, refurbish, resell, biodegrade, and recycle what we create. We do more than set a new bar. House of Heritors honors the luxurious and lush abundance of life on Earth, and invests in the beauty and health of the ecosystems that provide for us. It's my honor to be building this visionary company.
Every day I’m working to realize my vision with fellow free-thinkers and futurists. I gather brilliant minds around circular fashion and biomaterials, support conservation efforts, am always learning more about the most meaningful regeneration initiatives, and speak on the philosophical underpinnings of regenerative economy.
You can find House of Heritors on Instagram and hear the latest on our approaching launch by letting us know your contact details below, but we’re keeping a low profile for now, while we grow. The art of the reveal is a beautiful thing, after all.
